L. Patrick James, MD, is a medical doctor and health care leader with a penchant for implementing strategies in complex environments. He currently serves Quest Diagnostics, INC, as Senior Managing Director, Lenexa Business Unit, where he is responsible for the integration team for Physician and Hospital services. He is responsible for $274M in revenue and approximately 1,600 employees in six states.

James previously served LABONE, INC as Executive Vice President for Pathology and Laboratory Services. He spent nine years with Health Midwest, most recently as Medical Director of Hospital Integration where he led seven service lines (lab, pharmacy, radiology, pulmonary, case management, registration and medical records, and rehab.) Additionally, Dr. James experience spans Research Medical Center, St. Joseph Hospital in Denver CO, and National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD.

He earned his medical degree with honors from St. Louis University; performed his internship and residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology with board certification at the National Naval Medical Center, with post-graduate training in Cytopathology with board certification at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Additionally, he has completed multiple courses in project management and leadership development with the United States Navy.
