As executive assistant for the Kansas City Area Life Sciences Institute, Ms. Newman performs all administrative functions related to the president of the Life Sciences Institute and the daily operations of the Institute and the Kansas City Area Life Sciences Institute Association.

Previously, Ms. Newman has held positions as an executive secretary, office manager and medical transcriptionist. She attended college at Miami Dade Community College in Miami and Progressive College in Bulawayo, Rhodesia.
