The Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, based in Kansas City, Missouri, is known for its excellence in academic medicine including education, research and patient care. It is both the largest medical school in the state of Missouri and the oldest in Kansas City, Missouri.
With an expanded emphasis on research, KCUMB scientists are engaged in NIH-funded biomedical research focused on cancer. Partnering in Kansas City's Life Sciences Initiative, Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences will break ground in January 2002 on the new Life Sciences Education and Research Center, designed to expand research capacity as well as provide educational facilities for advanced technological support.
