Dramatically increased investments in research, the creation of a world-class urban university and a two-state focus on the life sciences highlight a new report issued today by the Blue Ribbon Task Force.

Commissioned by the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and supported by other local foundations, including the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, the task force was asked to examine strategies to strengthen higher education in the metropolitan area. It has delivered a road map, highlighted by four key strategic recommendations, that ensures the long-term strength of the Kansas City region and creates a diverse, stable, effective work force that leads to a higher quality of life by improving higher education.
